The rapid development of the information technology market and the increasingly massive use of it in every sector, has led to the birth of professionals of all levels, whose skills revolve around the world of computers for which high-level computer training, which can also be obtained, but not only, with a computer engineering degree. Among these figures, one of the most delicate and requested is that of the Network Engineer: a real guarantor of the rights of the rules governing the IT world.

The Network Security Engineer is a highly specialized professional figure, who is responsible for safeguarding, managing and updating the organization’s network in line with business goals or objective.

Job Description

Network Engineer will work on in-house projects or can be assigned to project management teams working with outside customers. As part of an organisation’s IT team, Network Engineers work closely with Sales Manager, Security Experts, Pre-sales Engineer. Some of the duries therefore comprise of:

  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
  • Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Arranging scheduled upgrades
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders
  • Managing BGP and OSPF routing protocols


Network Engineering is the coordinating, planning, and leading important and essential part of the IT Infrastructures of companies, organizations, and public administrations.

Our customers are intere cities, road concessions, big retailiers, relevant service providers for whom the reliability of their networks, the interconnection with the external sites are fundamental for successful performing their businesses.

Skills required

The delicacy of the role and the complexity of the subject he deals with, requires the Network Engineer to have very high skills in both the Network and Security fields.

In the technological sphere, he must have the skills of a hardware technician, system analyst, security administrator and network administrator. Basically, the mastery of the most common network architecture (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei) and of the protocols (OSPF, BGP) that regulate the passage of data is required.

He must also be able to manage Security Network Infrastructure like Firewall, IDS, IPS, and EDR. A knowledge of SIEM Systems is a preference.

A CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification or equivalent network experience will be mandatory and NSE 5 Fortinet Certification is a preference.

The training of the Network Engineer

Our Network Engineer may have a degree in computer science, electronic engineering or equivalent path of studies or experience.

Usually, those who intend to pursue these professions attend study courses in the United States or in northern European countries (like Cisco Academies, RIPE training, for instance), where these subjects are well known and widespread.

The research is aimed at candidates of both sexes pursuant to Law 903/77.

Work locations can be chosen between Milan, Rome and Catania, Smart Working is widely applied in the company as well, but our preference will be to have a resident in Lombardy as our main Data Center and Customers are located in the Greater Milan Area.
